Today's taping of Cable 14's Teen Talk was tough because I'm not down with the teenage population. The episode's focus was teen culture, so I had the opportunity to learn tons from my co-host Sara and the panelists Ally and Josh.
Things got interesting when we played a little game of Teen Slang Trivia, or at least Sara and the panelists played. I sat there wanting to curl up in fetal position. The terms ranged from "G.O.A.T." (Greatest Of All Time) to "savage" (hardcore/badass). After that, I still feel the need to never use any teen slang.
Prior to getting schooled on teen slang, we talked about what it means to be a teenager in 2016, relationships and influences. Post-teen slang enlightenment, Lisa Farrugia joined us from Prom Project Hamilton.
You can catch it on Cable 14 this Saturday at 6:30pm EST and on Cable 14 NOW.
I don't feel right about blogging about celebrity news when there have been some really devastating headlines reported today in the real world. So here's #TrendingTuesday sad news day edition.
First, this morning the world woke up to the news of 2 attacks in Brussels. One was a suicide bombing, the other an explosion. At least 30 people died and over 100 were left injured. ISIS has claimed responsibility for these attacks and police have released a picture taken from security cameras of the three suspects. Authorities are saying that they were somewhat expecting an attack as Brussels is headquarters for the investigations of last year's Paris attacks. Everyone else was absolutely stunned - including myself - that this is still a problem.
Next up, an Ontario high school received phone threats and the fire alarm was pulled causing the school to evacuate the students to a nearby recreation centre where they were then held under a hold and secure. Last I heard, parents were able to pick their kids up.
And finally, or the last sad headline that I am aware of, is the news of former Toronto Mayor Rob Ford's death. He passed away after a hard battle with a rare form of cancer at only 46 years old.
Ladies and gents, let's keep everyone in our thoughts and send positive vibes their way. We live in a very scary world that seems to become more real with every tragedy. It's extremely frustrating that there hasn't been a way to prevent what happened in Brussels and everywhere else that has been experiencing this.
My faith for a better and safer future is wearing thin. I hope that tomorrow's a brighter day.
If you're a regular saverinascozzari.com visitor, you may have noticed a change in the website design. If you're not, you missed out on the leopard print craze that this blog was once known for.
With the help of the best producer in the world (might be biased), I have taken some steps to change the look of my site and myself (virtually and professionally). It is important that this website reflects my personality and that after checking it out, I will be taken seriously. Leopard print doesn't exactly scream out mature. It screams out teenager trying too hard to be an adult.
I am obsessed with all things white and gold. You'd know that if you work with me. Everything from my phone case to my personal planner has a print similar to the background of this site. It's cleaner and more mature - the exact look that I'm going for.
It feels like the right time to make these changes as "adulting" is becoming a bigger part of my life each and everyday. I'm setting bigger goals for myself. I'm trying to build a brand for myself. This is all very real and no longer just a dream.
The look of the site isn't the only thing that will be changing. My social media and blog content will have purpose. The content released in the world wide web will capture me in action behind the scenes producing TV productions, blogging away, doing interviews, etc... Basically, you can kiss selfies goodbye. Oh, and you won't be seeing my pooch's mug as often unless it's work related.
What you will still see online are pictures of my friends and I here and there (I'm human and I have friends), fitspiration posts (#SavsFitJourney is still happening), and obviously it wouldn't be normal to not post food pictures so keep an eye out for those too.
The last change in order to build a suitable and successful brand will be my work as a host, producer and blogger. The vibes that I give off as a host and the vibes that I give off as a blogger couldn't be more different. My writing is a direct line to my brain, while my on-camera personality has many filters. It's harder to maintain a certain image than it is to just be yourself. I'm not pretending to be something that I'm not. Just the TV version of myself is cleaner cut and kind of a kiss ass.
There is some new content in the works to bring these changes to life. I'm looking forward to testing this out and getting feedback. Happy Monday all, old Saverina out!
Well this is epic #TuneInThursday news (and an honourable mention goes out to Fuller House for being renewed for a second season).
We finally get to watch Leslie Jones, Kate Mckinnon, Melissa McCarthy and Kristen Wiig in action as the new and "improved" Ghostbusters. At first, I wasn't feeling the idea of replacing the original gang. Now, I still don't totally love the idea, but I also totally hate the idea.

Yes, this is a true story. Please don't judge me.
On some strength training days, after a long exhausting day hosting, producing or blogging; I'm tempted to miss my workout and just hang out in bed and watch Netflix. Well my friends, I've learned that when there is a will there is a way.
On the back of my bedroom door, I have a shoe caddy hanging holding all of my heels. I grab my heaviest pair of heels (specifically my favourite neutral chunky heeled open toe shoes) and use them in place of dumbbells. It seems to work just the same and I'm not missing out on my fitness training.
And to do seated tricep dips and step-ups, I just use my makeup bench. Voila, never skip a workout again!
